HOMETOWN: Miami, Florida PARENTS: Marcus and Adele Donovan SIBLINGS: Older Brother (dead), Younger Brother, Younger Sister OTHER FAMILY: Open
NAME: Mike AIM: Ask PB: Justin Timberlake TIME ZONE: Pacific
HAIR: Black EYES: Blue HEIGHT: 6'1 WEIGHT: 180
Anthony stands at 6'1" in height and weighs about 180 lbs. While he doesn't have a ripped physique of a body builder, he has the lithe compact form of someone who spends a great deal of time dancing. He has blue eyes and very short curly black hair that is sometimes shaved off. On his left shoulder, he has a tattoo of a red cross.
LIKES: Drawing, painting, taking pictures, women, sex, fine wine, good dancing music, real fast cars, the beach DISLIKES: Most Adonus, lack of choices, bullies, power freaks, people who abuse their power
Pragmatic: Anthony is very much a realist. He doesn't see the point of bemoaning right or wrong in the system anymore, but does whatever he needs to do to survive. If he has to hurt people to get ahead? That's not a problem. If helping others gets him ahead? So much the better.
Creative: Anthony is a very creative and imaginative person. His mind doesn't tend to be very linear and he can often jump off on some tangent. This can be quite useful in his chosen field. But it can also be quite annoying outside of it.
Outgoing: He is not shy, not in the slightest. While he is not outwardly flamboyant, he is quite comfortable with himself. He will never be the shy guy along the wall at a party. Anthony will always be that guy in the middle of a crowd getting lots of attention.
Guarded: While he tends to be in the middle of attention, Anthony learned the hard way (especially at Gardner) not to let people get too close. There is always a shield to keep people at bay, and very few people see the person beneath the wall. He doesn't tend to trust people enough to let them see who his true self is.
Intelligent: Anthony is very intelligent. He rests on the upper end of the IQ spectrum. Sometimes, though, he is too smart for his own good. He expects others to be able to understand things as easily as he does. This often leads to frustrations when others don't, especially on something he thinks should be easy.
Selfish: One thing that Gardner has taught Anthony is to look out for himself. He has learned how to take advantage of opportunities as they appear, and to get the most out of everything. He also goes for what he wants without hesitation if there is an advantage in it for him.
Anthony's parents were a surprise to everyone. They came from different worlds (he was from the 'streets' and she was a good girl) and almost never got along. But the passion between the two was never in doubt. When they fought, it was loud, violent, and epic. When they loved, it was something from the romance novels. That they got involved was no surprise, but that they lasted long enough to become married was. That they stayed together was nothing short of astonishing.
Anthony was born into this firestorm of a family, the second of four children. he had two brothers (one older) and a sister. That same passion that his parents showed each other was definitely shown to the kids. When times were good, everything was beautiful. When times were bad, everyone hid and got out of the way. That they were loved was not in doubt, but they were definitely not "spared the rod" as the saying goes.
Growing up in Miami, Anthony quickly followed in the footsteps of his father and older brother. That is, he became quite the trouble maker. He ran with the wrong crowd, got into drugs, and got into trouble with gangs. It wasn't until his older brother was killed in an ambush by a rival gang that Anthony began to straighten up. It took time, but when he graduated high school, he had become a much better student. Even if he was still a little rough and tumble.
When it came time to pick a college, Gardner was the best choice. It was far enough away that his old friends couldn't get him into more trouble. Its architecture program was one of the best in the country, and the school offered a free ride, which was something he desperately needed. While his family wasn't poor, an Ivy League was way out of their reach.
Gardner was a shock to his system. A really big shock. He had understood just what had been being asked of him, in theory, but the reality was so much more. At first, he rebelled against the system and suffered for it. More than a few nights were spent in the infirmary fixing up injuries from one defiance or another. But, that only lasted a couple of quarters before he figured out the system itself. Once he had it figured out, it proved to be mostly easy going. Finding the right person, keeping off the radar of the abusive ones. Now if only he can keep that going throughout the end of his Masters, and he'll be golden.
